Getting Flirc remote working

I got my Flirc remote dongle in the mail today, and the process went smoothly until it didn’t:

  1. Connected dongle to Mac Flirc App
  2. Used “Media Keys” to learn the buttons from my remote (Apple TV remote)
  3. Plugged dongle into the USB port on the Ropieee box
  4. Dongle correctly identified as Flirc on the Ropieee admin page
  5. Entered the zone name

At this point, the web interface for Ropieee says:

Please make sure you enable and pair the RoPieee extension in Roon!

It was easy to enable the extension. And Roon says it’s running. I don’t see anywhere that I can follow the instruction that tells me to “pair” the extension (or the remote).

It’s possible that on the first go-round, I had the zone name wrong. My Ropieee box has the device name “DJBooth”, while the Roon zone attached to it is named “DJ Booth” with a space in it. Thinking that this might be my problem, I took out the space and ran another configure. Still no luck.

So, I guess two questions:

  1. How does one “pair” the Ropieee extension in Roon?
  2. Is the zone name that I’m supposed to enter the Ropieee device, or the RAAT zone that’s attached to it? (I mean, I can change them to match, but I’d rather have the zone name look like English instead of Unix.)

Oops. I guess I just needed to run Configure one more time…
