Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?
· Within last 12 hours
What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

Describe the issue
Google Speakers not allowed to be 'Enabled' in Settings
Describe your network setup
Roon server on a Mac Mini M1, library on Synology NAS, wired to Unifi UDM SE. Several endpoints, only non-Google endpoints affected
Just to clarify - Home mini is seen by Settings, Audio but won’t enable. Nest Audio is seen and enabled, but won’t allow playback. Error message of Audio Device won’t switch input to Roon is shown when trying. Both worked perfectly until this afternoon. Both will take streams from Plex, using same local library, so it’s not a Google issue, or a network issue by the looks of it.
Thanks for writing in - it’s good to see you on the community again!
Another troubleshooting step to review - your local network and multiple subnets. You’ll want to make sure that all your Roon devices and endpoints are running on the same local subnet. Based on your admin, there may potentially be a few different networks that your devices are spread across that could be causing you issues.
The easiest way to test this would be to navigate to your router settings, and disable all other subnets active in your network. That should force your devices to link to the same IP mask - let me know if you’re able to give this a try.
Thanks for the welcome back - it’s a shame it’s only when there’s issues!
I am my own Unifi admin and although there are several subnets and VLANs, this is to separate out the Unifi Protect kit from the rest of the system. All audio is on the default subnet and VLAN shared with the core and NAS. I’ve also used a localised audio folder on the core to rule out NAS issues and have also manually changed IP addresses, so the Wiim and Nest mini swap around, but no avail.
Lastly, I’ve checked IPv6 and multicast settings and the former is off and the latter is allowed.
So, after a night’s sleep and trying again this morning, the chrome cast devices are working again! No changes made this end, either software or firmware, so am still stumped. However, my little one will get a peaceful night tonight, now I’m able to stream Max Richter’s ‘Sleep’ to his room.
Glad to hear that the system is now working as expected! Hopefully the system continues to work as expected, but should you have any further difficulties, please let us know here before the thread closes or open a new thread to reference this one and we can pick this back up, thanks!
