Hello, I saw this post and just wanted to add that I appear to be having what looks to be the same issue using the following hardware below.
My Roon App is never maximized in terms of its real-estate taken on the screen. The Roon App is what I would consider normal size compared to the entire screen (maybe 50% of entire screen size).
If I minimize the Roon App to the system tray and then hover my mouse over the tray icon and click on it to bring Roon back into focus the audio file which is playing skips a beat or two/ drops out then continues as normal.
Resizing the Roon window doesn’t seem to cause any issues on my machine but minimizing then maximizing it does cause a glitch every time

Thank you for your report. Please, at your convenience, try to reproduce the error once more. We’ve enabled some diagnostic logging for your account to capture what’s happening. If it’s not the same bug, it definitely shouldn’t be happening, and we’ll need to implement a second fix.

I have produced the problem yesterday (7/22) at the times listed below
5:31pm cst
Track Playing = Rod Stewart (I Know)
Result = whole track stopped playing on a Windows Taskbar click to bring the minimized Roon Window back into focus (maximize it)
5:34pm cst
Track Playing = David Bowie (China Girl) (2018 Remaste)
Result = whole track stopped playing on a Windows Taskbar click to bring the minimized Roon Window back into focus (maximize it)
Also to note, this time I caught a message that popped up saying >> “Roon Lost Control Of The Audio Device”
In both instances above, I had to click the Play button again to resume listening
Side rant…I wish Roon would leave Error messages for encountered glitches up on the screen longer. Some glitches happen a few times a week but I’m never staring at the screen when they happen, but I do notice/hear them. They just get chalked up as a mystery.
Anyway..Thanks for taking a look into the problem reported in this thread
