Sorry if this has been already asked, but i cannot see other topics.
I don’t quite understand the situation with greek alphabet and metadata in Roon. I can see that greek is not one of the available languages for artists and albums names.
Nevertheless, with greek artists i see various situations. Here some examples:
Marinella: here the name is in latin letters, but under the latin name there is the original name in greek letters. this is the “ideal” situation: i’m not greek, so i can search the artists using a latin keyboard, and the artists are mixed with all the others in “alphabetical” order
Mikis Theodorakis: only latin name. there is a TiVo Bio, and the page is linked to WIKI pages. I’d like the original name displayed
Foteini Darra: here only greek name. the artist is recognized
In at least one album, i’ve added file tags with both the latin and the greek name, so i have also Foteini Darra
another example:
In general, i’ve noticed (but maybe i’m wrong) that using the original greek name in file tags is better: usually, roon identifies the artist and displays he/she with the translitterated name.
but i’d like a “best practice” suggestion from roon @staff.
and also, i’d like a full greek support in Roon Fluenty.
