This is a known issue caused by Microsoft tightening security. The username and password is still guest and guest, to access Roon OS, but now you have to tell Windows that it’s OK to connect to your ROCK system as well.
Read this article on how to solve it. Start at step 6 if you have Windows 11 Pro, or step 8 if you have Windows 11 Home.
Welcome to the forum! @Geoff_Coupe is correct here, this is likely due to the Windows 11 security settings. Please follow that guide and let us know if it resolves the issue on your end, thanks!
Thank you for the warm welcome. I tried the PowerShell solution and it worked for me, going forward perhaps this topic could be made a “sticky” to assist new users. I used a couple days of my trial period trying to resolve this issue, your knowledge and assistance is greatly appreciated. I would like to ask another question if I may, when adding music folders to Roon do they have to be network shares to access folders on the local box?
Hi @sahuarosys,
Glad to hear the PowerShell solution helped! As @Geoff_Coupe mentioned, Roon works seamlessly with physically attached drives, so network drives aren’t a requirement. Let us know if you have any other questions!
