· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I am running Roon 1.8 on an older Mac Mini. I need to move the server to new Mac Mini hardware and also upgrade to the newest version of Roon. is there any info on migrating to a new server AND upgrading?

Tell us about your home network

· My home network is all gig wired. I'm good on this.

I am now running the old 1.8 on my new server. So all I need now is the process to UPGRADE to the newest Roon Server. I’m running on a Mac Mini OS 15.7.4

Hi @Brian_Chaffins,

  • Make sure you have at least two recent Roon Database backup (just in case)
  • Download Roon 2.0 from the Roon website and install.
  • When it runs, it will update your 1.8 database to be 2.0 compatible.
  • Once you happy with the Mac, remove Roon 1.8 legacy from any other devices and install Roon.

at the bottom is broken, I’ve informed Roon.

Hi @Brian_Chaffins,

Thanks for writing in! @Carl is correct with the above information, as long as you have a saved backup or two, simply download the latest version of Roon from our website here:

And restore from your recently saved backup. Let us know if you have any questions along the way! :raising_hands:

Now I’m not able to get it logged in, but see you guys may be having a issue. Its thinking I’m not online. :frowning:

Yep, see this pinned Service Alert …

I suggest, grabbing a beer or a nice glass of wine and coming back to the 1.8 to 2.0 migration once the dust has settle on this service outage.

My Roon server is up and running but I’m having one issue. My remote audio devices show up for 15 sec or so then go away. If I restart the control app they come back, then go away. I have 3 HiFiBerry DACs. I updated the HiFiBerry on one, but they still all act the same.

I’m running Roon 2.60 on a Mac Mini version 15 (Sequoia) OS. I’ve confirmed firewall settings and they are correct. I even disabled the firewall with the same results.

Both Roon server and HiFiBerry are wired ethernet on the same switch.

looking for suggestions.

Thanks

Brian

Ok, I seem to be good now. I made a couple changes to the Mac security and left it running all night. Its now seeing all of my network audio endpoints. I have around 6 HiFiBerry’s plugged into gig ethernet and they are now all visible. So it’s only taken be a few years to get off of 1.8 to the newest.

It has even found a few things I was not using on 1.8 like the AudioEngineD1 connected to my desktop. This is a nice plus!

Thanks

Brian
