Has "New Releases For You" improved recently?

During the last 1-2 months, I am noticing that more relevant content is being displayed to me in the “New Releases For You” home page section of Roon.

More specifically:

  1. Before, I would get many tens of albums suggested at once, with very few closely relevant to my library or listening habbits. Now, I am getting like 10 albums only and half of it is typically solid.
  2. New releases of my in-library artists would very very often not get displayed unless I manually searched for them in Roon and listened to them beforehand. Now, I am seeing most of my in-library artist new releases displayed within 2 days or so.

NOTE:

  • Longterm user of both Qobuz and Tidal in Roon.
  • All albums in my library are identified and matched with artists present in Roon database.
  • Got a narrow library of ~700 carefully selected albums.
  • Mostly listening to pop, rock and metal.
  • Did not change anything about my Roon setup. I recently moved to another city (different internet provider) but otherwise all is equal.

Is it just me?

I will have to test mine. I have Tidal and Qobuz in roon as well as Apple Music not on roon. But I seem to find albums using all these methods.

Nope for me, its got worse and worse never ever look at anymore.

Same for me - I get loads of artists I actively detest and the new releases don’t even fill up a screen (it is currently recommending only 54 new releases - not even filling up the full 60 slots it has available on the screen,) so it doesn’t seem to cast its net very wide (I have around 2tb of my own ripped albums across many genres, so it has plenty of info to learn from)
No idea what’s happening - I came to the forum looking for advice on settings or something else I might be able to do to tweak things, but it appears I’m one of very few to have this issue.
It’s a shame because Roon’s recommendations are excellent for Roon Radio etc. so I’m surprised it’s lacking for me when it comes to new release recommendations.

Strange that it somehow works better than before for me.

I just started to use it more last few months, actually listening to all the recommendations and then either adding them to my library or dismissing them from the New Releases For You section. Basically like managing a “backlog”. But not rigorously, only from time to time when I was in the mood, therefore hard to say for sure if my effort was helping or not.

Anyway, for instance, this is how it looks for me today (havent touched the section for several days):

Multiple great things about the image:

  1. Only one album.
  2. The album is from a favourite group of mine.
  3. The album is displayed already in Roon despite its today’s release date.

Neither of the above three points were happening in the past. Its really cool!

This is the first two lines of mine, which is pretty much on point. I don’t listen to much Dead but I do have a bunch of boots in my library so I guess they are taken into account.

Mine are just stuck and don’t move regardless if they have been played or not. Any that I would listen to I have played before they even turn up in this section, yet Roon insists I need to listen to it. I don’t want to add them to my library as I don’t keep favourite I buy what I like.
