The downside of SSD is power consumption. As the density increases so is the power. A typical 2TB SSD is rated 2.5A at 5V. When writing large block of data, power is at its highest but read power is relatively lower than a typical hard disk.

Interesting point on power consumption. Many music collections are write once read many times. The cost of dense, double digit TB SSDs is likely to remain premium for a while yet.
