HDMI audio not working on headless Raspberry Pi 5 with Roon (ref#9HNHUE)

I now remember that this seems to be an ongoing issue that, to my knowledge, no one has resolved so far. Sea a previous report that links to others:

I don’t think so, S/PDIF is still digital. You probably use the DAC as an USB to S/PDIF bridge in this setup. As an alternative , you could add a HAT to the RPi that provides digital outputs like S/PDIF, TOSLINK, … This is also not the first report of what seems to me to be the same issue: PS: It is more likely something that needs to be fixed on the RPi side of things.
