Headphones thread (show us yer cans)!

I also own the Pi8s and I completely agree with your assessment. One of the best sounding true wireless earbuds currently available.

In fairness, “bubbles” probably sounds good using a soup can and a string! :joy::joy::joy:

HiFiMan Arya Organics, planar magnetics, just arrived. Using my new (to me) Chord Mojo. What an amazing combo!
Deciding now whether or not I want to use the autoeq headphone curves or not…

For me, Headphones are related (almost always) to Holidays period, any moment of the Year.

On weekly commutee I drive a motorbike and I never want to be isolated from environment by my music.

For this type of listening (earphones) I am absolutely fan of RoonArc, also because the very beginning I experienced zero issues for connectivity. For me was a pleasant “plug and play” first approach.

I remember being on South France maybe weeks after was released, listening to some music at car with my cellphone and explaining my wife we were listening to our own files.

I jumped into a Fiio Olympus 2, a 2nd hand unit present from a friend and only 10 days ago I decided to go one step ahead and bought a Chord Electronics Mojo (Mk I) which really boost my volume level and I understand also my listening experience.

I must admit two things

  1. about the improvement I rely on the theoretical part (numbers and figures) as long as I have been not able to do anything else but test the unit  I hope the practical experience will confirm that

  2. you can do worst pictures to show the set-up with the Sony SA-3000 I own, but this can be more dificult that to do a quality picture

enjoy listening whatever you have!

PS: I love to see the signal path when listening… Part of it is not fully comprehensive for me, but makes me feel like I listen to the best possible…

EVERSOLO PLAY + Apple AirPod Max

I have been gifted both, and since the PLAY has no Bluetooth OUT, I would need a transmitter to send the signal from PLAY to AirPod Max.

Recommendations appreciated. Thank you.

I found this for you

  • Aune X7s class A amplifier & Aune XP1 linear power supply

On the go and with my laptop I’m using Dali IO-12 headphones.

Setting the OOR to bypass using the rotary switch on the rear, then setting the wandla to analog volume mode and using the wandla to control volume. GREAT

A question for headphone devotees

How do you decide which pair to use , does it go in rotation, or based on music type.

I can understand different rooms but I have a simple set up of 1 amp and a mere 3 pairs and can’t stop myself swapping and changing. I decided a week about rotation but I rarely stick to it

just a thought

Genre
Mood
Length of listening
Room temperature

I just listen to one for months. Then suddenly realize it’s not the only headphone I have. Then switch and repeat the whole process.

I find my HiFiMan Arya better for classical and Focal Clear Mg for Rock

When the wife is in the room I tend to choose my wireless headphones with ANC. Works wonderfully :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
