Help migrating Sooloos backup to Roon

My Sooloos system failed completely. I was able to get the HDD backed up to an external hard drive, but only in Sooloos format-it wouldn’t export. Is there anyone who could take the Sooloos back up and convert it into something that Roon will recognise? Or could advise how I can do it myself please?

Hi @Gary_Hedges,

If you haven’t exported the Sooloos library via Control10/15 into something generic that Roon can import, there’s unfortunately nothing Roon itself can do to reformat the database. Despite the deep compatibility between Roon and Sooloos, theirs is an obfuscated proprietary file structure that Roon can’t unspool.

The workaround is to find another machine (like a QNAP) that can host Sooloos firmware to export this database. Third-party migration or metadata export tools are unlikely to accommodate this use case - Control itself is very likely the only software capable of exporting this database.

Depending on the device year and specific manufacturer, I recommend contacting Meridian support.

Thanks for replying. Any idea where I can download the software? I have a qnap NAS I could use.

There is some info about this on this forum: QNAP QTS 4.2.1 - The Hitchhikers Guide To Meridian - Powered by MrTechGuy.co.uk
