Help Wanted: USB DAC DSD Compatibility list

Hi All,

We are looking to create a comprehensive list of SBC devices, compatible USB DAC’s and their supported native DSD formats.

To achieve this, we’ll need your assistance in cataloging working formats.

If possible, please could users post their results for the following:

  • Device used (EG: Odroid C2, Allo Sparky)
  • USB DAC used (EG: iFi nano iDSD)
  • Verified working DSD formats (eg: DSD64=noise, DSD128=fine, DSD256=fine, DSD512=not_compatible)

Thanks in advanced.

Hi @Dan_Knight,

It might be an idea if we combine forces here. Especially as for native DSD we both need a patch for the kernel as well does the Roon team.

(for my patch set: have a look here: https://github.com/RoPieee/ropieee-kernel/blob/master/usb-dsd-quirks.patch)

Count me in

Heres our current list. Same as your’s, but i’ve added the Sabaj DA2 DAC:
https://github.com/Fourdee/linux-1/commit/4b4a4dcdb7cf9a701f47e30b49ebefaacb806f0a

Unfortunately, pure noise on all DSD formats. Sent email to Sabaj, waiting for response.

Was unaware of this? Roon Devs need to update their software to match DSD USB DAC’s in Linux, and allow its functionality?

Yes they do for ROCK. There are customers that connect their USB DAC directly to ROCK.
