Question :

Hi I have a question about the ROON LABS software.

Here’s how I’m setup, I have a laptop with Bluetooth capable, inside on my D: drive all my digitized music is there.

The ROON LABS software is installed on this same computer, and the music output is done by USB cable AudioQuest to my MOON 280D with the Mind 2 (Streamer capability).

I control my music from the ROON LAB application installed on my 5th generation iPad tablet by telling him that my computer is the CORE.

My question: the information I see on my tablet when I play music is not the same on my laptop, which remained frozen on the last piece of music listened to. I would like to know if there is a way to mirror them.

So when I have guests and my laptop feed images to my TV, my guests could see the right information about the music playing.

When I play ROON from my computer I select USB on my MOON 280 D, and if I play ROON from my iPad the input switch automatically to NET
( Network ) my MOON 280D ??? I want my laptop to be the master and my iPad call my selections to my laptop.

I would like to know if the computer and the tablet can be mirrored.

Thank you.

Hi @Michel_Lonergan,

The Moon 280D is a Roon Ready device (Roon can stream to it via the network) and also via its USB port.

As there is USB cable between the Core and the Moon, Roon is seeing both options and thus there are 2 Audio Zones in Roon (one for each connection type):

  1. Moon RAAT
  2. Moon USB

It sounds like you have selected audio zone #1 for the iPad and #2 for the laptop, which is why the now-playing screens don’t match.

I would recommend going into Roon → Settings → Audio Devices and disabling the USB option; this way Roon will only present 1 Zone for the Moon.

PS Streaming via the network using RAAT is generally considered the better option that using USB.

Bingo ! Thank it work have a good day.
