lookup “lightdim sticker”. They are a sheet of varying sized sticker / film dots you can put over LEDs on cases. These got very popular in the Schiit communities as their white lights are bright AF. The stickers are not noticeable on black cases or when using the right size dot and them dim the LEDs without much or any color shift. They are faster than resistors and, in my opinion, work just as well.

A few:
- Where movement on the Dial is smooth, the VOL20 has (smooth) notches. This allows for fine-grained volume control (1 notch is 1 volume unit +/-);
- The VOL20 has a rechargeable battery (via USB-C) that lasts for a few weeks when not turned off;
- The VOL20 appears to wake from sleep a tiny bit quicker;
- There’s no click action on the VOL20 but a tiny button instead, supporting single/double/triple click (play/pause, next, previous) and long-press (mute) – or whatever you configure them to do.
They have been behaving excellently over the holidays. For now, I have put the Dials in storage.

Do you use the Fosi VOL20 to control volume on your PC, or have you linked to RooDial? Thanks.
I use a Mac mini M4 for server duties (Roon, Unifi, Plex, etc.), with a few connected VOL20s.
I map the vol up/down/playpause/next/previous/mute commands to whatever volume control I want (in case of Roon, this could be keyboard shortcuts to the Roon app or shell commands via RoonCommandLine).
There’s currently no RooExtend integration I’m aware of.
Thank you.
