Describe the issue

For quite some time, I'd say couple of weeks, with every update I have to manually bring my HifiBerry device to life. I don't have an idea what's wrong. It never happened before. Whenever dialog with an update appears I dismiss it to avoid breaking my setup.
To resolve this sometimes it's enough to just reboot RPI, sometimes I have to reboot Roon server too (MacMini) but there were couple of situations I had to go throuughout HifiBerry setup process in order for it to work. I need to point out that this device is headless, so I have to either connect to it using webbrowser or hook up HDMI display to see what's going on.

Please have a closer look at those updates. On my side I'll start 2 more Hifiberry devices to my setup to observe if this issue occurs on every device or just on this particular one I've described here.

Also, as a Roon user, I'd love to see updates little less often. Don't get me wrong - I do appreciate that you keep working on this great product all the time, but bothering user too often to update the system (even though it takes just couple of seconds) is something that doesn't bring much to the table.

Describe your network setup

Ubiquity Dream Router 6, Switch Cisco (don't remember it's model), modem FTTH supplied by my fiber operator directly connected to my router.

Hey @Bartosz_Kolodziejcza,

Thanks for taking the time to write in! Welcome to the community as well - we’re excited to have you here, but also apologize in that it’s an issue that prompted your initial post.

If at all possible, we’ll need a fresh reproduciton of your issue in order to enable diagnostic mode on your Roon Server machine to take a closer look. Let me know a more specific date, time, and if applicable, name of track playing when the HifiBerry goes down.

Thank you for your thoughts! We have a dedicated area in community for user requests - our Feature Suggestions category. I’d suggest sharing your thoughts over there in order to have our team better acknowledge your feedback, thank you!

It’d also be worth temporarily setting up a simplfifed network setup, and see about directly hardwiring your HifiBerry and Roon Server directly to your primary router, and see if the same issue occurs.

Lastly, we see your server running on a Mac - I’d confirm that your Mac firewall has Roon listed as proper exceptions, here’s more information on this (a good test can be to temporarily disable your firewall and see if the same issue occurs)

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you!
