How active music listening can make our brains bigger:
People lose gray matter with age. Older adults’ memory deficits are linked to brain atrophy and shrinkage.
Music has the power to preserve older adults’ working memory by enhancing gray matter volume.
Active music listening increases older adults’ cerebellar gray matter and improves working memory
So there is still hope for me

And it is even better, if you PLAY an instrument or speak/practice foreign languages.
Since you are a Dane in Hamburg you have very good chances. And of course you listen to music!

Nice Post Torben
I will share this to the wife as I am setting up for a retirement of music listening, reading and walking my dogs (ok and lots of travel).
I will tell her that the music is not just for my enjoyment, but to keep my brain young and healthy

Or any activity that keeps the brain active.

I’ve spent a fortune on equipment to facilitate critical listening in the last 18 months now I’m worried that my brain might get too big for my skull
