I have unpacked and set up the Nucleus One but I am stuck - how do I attach it to my Marantz PM6007 Amplifier? The amp does not have a USB or HDMI input. Is it a case of sending it back to the shop and sticking with my Wiim Pro which I can input into the amp via the coaxial output.
If you want to use Roon, keep the Nucleus One, the Wiim Pro, and the amp. Connect the Wiim to the amp and use it as a Roon Ready endpoint for Roon Server hosted on the Nucleus One. I did this initially with a Denon AVR-A1H. You can also experiment with using the RCA outs to the Marantz rather than coax. In that model you are using the Wiim Pro’s DAC rather than the Marantz one.
As the Nucleus One has only outputs for HDMI, USB, and over the network, you will need a device that has inputs that fit. As the Marantz doesn’t have any, you need something in-between.
I use an old Denon AVR-2805 receiver in my main listening Roon. I send Roon from my router to a Raspberry Pi4 via WIFI. Then, it’s USB from the RPi4 to a Meridian Prime DAC/pre-amp. I use RCA from the Meridian Prime to the Denon. My Nucleus is connected to my router using ethernet.
I think you can do something similiar using the Wiim Pro instead of an RPi4.
