ok, ok, I know: “Artist” tag, for classical music, should contain performers, not composer
but I stand still on my position and do consider “Composer” an artist while “Performer(s)” just interpreter(s) and I’m not going to retag my classical files
so… how I do I batch “remap” Album Artists so they show, in Roon, as “Performed by”?
I also like to know how to edit “performer” or link the performer to an artist.
In the picture below you can see an example: album artist is 16 horsepower and performer is sixteen horsepower.
I tried to merge them but it’s non posssible to merge an artist and a performer.
How ca I fix it?
Sorry for the interruption, but, what a great album and band. I saw them on the tour for this album, they were opening up for Morphine.
I would first look at the metadata for your tracks and see if it says Sixteen Horsepower in their tags. Also, you might click edit, Edit Fields and then check what is says under Primary Artist. You might be able to change things there. For me, Roon does it right.
My files of this and other 4 albums of 16 horsepower are tagged as 16 Horsepower but this is not the issue because other albums don’t have the voice “performed by” as low estate has.
the 1st picture here under is low estate the second is clogger
I tried what you say but I still have a separate performer: I find sixteen HP under performers and 16 HP under artists under artists so I can’t merge them.
I tried also to rename performer sixteen HP to 16 HP and it only change names but remains performer which has only low estate album and the others as you see under…
If you go to the album and highlight the tracks, you should be able to select edit from the 3 dot menu and right at the top there is a place to edit credits. Click the remove option and see if you can remove Sixteen horsepower there.
works if all tracks have the same “Artist” (Primary artist) doesn’t for classical when an album has tracks/works from different ones in which case… you have to edit track by track
