Someone once said (Can’t remember who for sure): “Background music is for people without background”. And don’t know if I agree … ![]()

Nothing, just fun …
I had to check my own statistics
after reading this post…
I am on medical leave since two months ago, and I am trying to take a daily walk for around 2-3 hours for keeping me little active, always RoonArc as companion during this action.
For my surprise, the 93 hours in one month are quite consistent with this: the surprise is not about the fact, is about that I am really doing this but this statistics are similar to my tele-working weeks, which I am 9 hours a day / 3 days per week working with music in the background.
Wonder what your SIX streamers are?..
Here i have one…a Linn Klimax DS/3, updated with an Organik dac and Utopik power supply.
I mostly use Qobuz /Roon streaming.
I have my own Nas music/video library also.
Currently listening to a cd set of Chopin by Arthur Rubinstein.
My television is connected to Roon via a Chromecast Ultra…
I seem to currently average about 20 hours of music listening per week on ROON. Nothing compared to some here.
But I’m sure those stats can fluctuate. Currently, I usually listen a couple of hours in the evening, sometimes more, sometimes less. Sometimes, we watch a movie instead, so I don’t listen to music at all, sometimes (though not very often), I listen in the afternoon or morning to some music as well.
I don’t come to a lot of hours because I don’t do much background listening. I don’t listen to music when I’m working (I find it too distracting), though I do sometimes just play some ambient background music (the type of stuff Brian Eno wrote for Airports etc.) for a relaxed setting, when we have guests over for dinner or the like.
My six streamers are Rose RS130 streamer with Denafrips Terminator-15 DAC, PS Audio Airlens with PS Audio StellarGold DAC, Denafrips Arce streamer with Denafrips Venus 12th DAC, Sonore Optical Rendue streamer with Benchmark DAC3B, Sonore Ultra Rendue streamer with Mytek Liberty II DAC plus a Wiim Ultra streamer in my garage system.
I work from home and have my Hi-fi system in my home office so I’m listening for about 8-10 hours a day Monday to Thursday then about 16 hours on Fridays as it’s drinks night so have Roon going until the early hours. About 3 hours a day over the weekend.
