How to add my music folder to Roon?

SORRY…next problem… Roon is now searching for Roon ROCK…oh my gosh…

ROON Rock or Server is now not working anymore. I don’t why I’m gettin from one problem to another…and that only, because I’d liked to add a folder

just noticed that the fan of my intelnuc i7 is on high…then for a second it goes slower, and then faster…
I really don’t get it…

Now that you’ve added a Watched Folder, the Roon Server is analysing all the files. This is a process that demands a lot of power until it completes, so normal operation of Roon is often not possible until it is finished.

Many of us turn this Analysis on overnight, and then set it to Throttled during the day. See:

It’s a similar process for adding a Backup folder on a NAS.

Personally, I would spend a little time reading the documentation on Roon - there’s a lot of depth to the system.

yesterday the fan was extremly loud…same as a concorde hahahahahah
i’ve shutted down everything, since my nuc is my living room near the kitchen…impossible to relax

started this morning with analysis…or lets say, nuc is continuing where it stopped…i dont have a lot of files…around 70 in flac format…will be more…

i don’t know if its really normal, that the nuc fan starts…1 minute or so and then stops, then starts again…

What type of Nuc is it what’s the cpu? How old is it? Might need a clean out. Analysis is processor heavy it’s reading each file making waveforms of each one, working out dynamic range, pulling all metadata and artwork. The fan will come on as and when CPU load is excessive.

intel nuc 10 i7…i think i need a restart with jumper setting

tried to attach the nuc on my screen…nothing, i don’t see anything. even bios or starting by pushing F2 on the keyboard…nothing shows up…

  • have you got a USB keyboard attached (a Bluetooth keyboard won’t work)
  • keep repeatedly pressing F2 - once may not trigger the BIOS entry.

pushed the F2 buttons a few times…the screen is not recognized and the fan is still running on high mode…

nothing. even by removing the ssd, ram and bios jumper…nothing happens

USB Keyboard attached fron and back…even the caps-lock light didn’t go on…but is powered, since i’ve tested a light yesterday. so basically power is there.

attached via hdmi to my screen. displayport…uff…hdmi - displayport?..let me try…if i find a cable

Faulty keyboard?

But then, you say that you “see nothing” on the monitor - if ROCK boots up you should certainly see messages on the screen to say that Roon OS and Roon is running, and giving the IP address that has been assigned to it…

keyboard is not faulty. just tested on my mac.

i really don’t see anything on my screen. my monitor shows up and telling me that no signal available. but it is attached, otherwise i would see: no cable attached.

and still now: the nuc fan is working hard, shuts down for 2 seconds and then re-starts…
i really don’t know what to do…

you wanna laugh? just received the WIIM Pro Plus…hahahahhaha and my ROCK is not working…

i think the intel nuc i have will not recover anymore. still running full house…

i need a new one. i will swap ram, and samsung evo 970 to NUC12WSHi7

what i really do not unterstand, why the fan is still running crazy. even after removing everything. seems that it’s stuck on something.
and i can’t get it to work…

let me try with a new nvme ssd…
