How to connect my BT Headset to my Mac

Hi,

i want to use my headset with my mac. and i am a little bit confused, because there are 2 options visible .
1st option: system output
2nd option: unknown device speakers ( core audio) - only speaker is available

i connect my headset over bluetooth with the mac and then use the 1st option and all sounds okay. but i am a little bit confused, because i can only use 32 PCM as maximum.

the 2nd option show another menue with 96 khz

my question is, why? and should i change something?

Addendum

As I understand it, this is probably the maximum for BT devices.
Via USB-C, I also get the selection shown above, as with the second option.
If Roon is then still running in exclusive mode for the device, the whole thing looks like this:

Just to add that if you use lossy Bluetooth from a Mac (either AAC in the best case or poor SBC), there is zero benefit for anything above CD quality
