How to enable a Windows Roon endpoint as a display

Roon Core Machine

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Connected Audio Devices

Number of Tracks in Library

Description of Issue

I’ve setup a spare Windows-10 NUC as a Roon Endpoint. The NUC’s USB port is connected to a DAC, and the NUC’s HDMI is connected to an input on my TV.

I have installed Roon Desktop on the NUC. I can now select the NUC’s USB output as an audio zone and can play Audio without any problem.

I don’t intend for a user to interact with the ROON GUI on the NUC but I want to use the NUC as a Roon display so it automatically displays the details of whatever is playing on that audio zone.

How do I do this?

You would run a browser on the Win 10 machine and display to the TV. This FAQ might be of help.

Thanks Daniel. I’ve setup Edge to autostart in full-screen, and that seems to work fine as a display on the TV. Mostly. Sometimes, when switching between tracks on different albums using the ipad, the display on the TV continues to show the artwork from the previous album even though the song title and lyrics correctly represet the new track. I can record a screen video if that would help. Wondering if anyone else has reported this?

I do believe that it has. I would be patient though as support is currently swamped with Roon 2.0 setup questions.

Hey @Steve_Hughes,

Thanks for taking the time to write in, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you!

Following up on this thread, sharing a video of this issue would definitely be helpful. Feel free to upload the video to this link: https://workdrive.zohoexternal.com/collection/nqcgjac23027d90a441bda2c314de49d7958a/external

The delay could come from a lag in your network, so I would try giving your router a hard reboot to see if that may help :+1: I’ll be monitoring this thread for your reply
