I have a good number of remix albums, which consist of multiple remix versions of the same song. I’ve noticed that when Radio wanders into one of these, it ends up queuing EVERY track in the album as “part X of Y”. Some of these have eight to ten different remixes of the same song, and playing them all back-to-back gets a bit boring… What is it in the metadata that’s making Roon think it needs to play the entire album instead of just picking one version of the song at random and then moving on to something else?
It sounds like a Roon is grouping the tracks as a multi-part work. If I’m right, you can edit the album by clicking the 3 dots icon for the album > select Edit > select Edit Album tab and scroll down to the bottom and click Disable Multi-Part Compositions for this Album.
Thanks for the pointer to the “Disable Multi-Part Compositions” setting. That appears to have done it. It would still be nice to understand what makes Roon think these are multi-part (it had a text blurb under the selection options saying Roon was guessing because there was no tag information to assist it with this decision).
