How to give preference to Qobuz high res library over existing iTunes library

Roon Core Machine

HP PC I have an extensive iTunes library in Apple lossless format. This is confined to 16bit. Recent I subscribed to Qobuz, and have coupled this with Roon. It looks Roon selects format from own library over the high res Qobuz offers. I have now disabled the library on my computer. Is there a way that Roon uses high res from Qobuz for same normal res album on PC, and I can still link my own library?

Thanks!

Hey, @Rob_Langstraat, welcome to Community! It’s great to have you here. Yes, you can totally do that. Here’s a link to our help center article with more details.

If you have multiple versions of an album in your library, you can choose which one you want to make the primary version - you can find more details in this article.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for the tip. I guess what I missed is that I have to add the Qobuz album to my library, and then make it primary. Never too old to learn :grinning:

Don’t confuse quality and bit depth. Bit depth has everything to do with dynamic range and 16-bit is able to deliver more than we can hear or tolerate.
