I’ve just done an upgrade to my Nucleus One, and Mac. The Nucleus one is fine, but the Mac says the new version doesn’t work with my version of OSX. How come the install went ahead on an OS that didn’t support it? And how can I re-install a version that does work with my current OSX (10.15.7).
You can temporarily reinstall version 2.64, which works with your outdated macOS. The download link is in the release notes:
Going forward, you need macOS 12 (Monterey), but most Intel Macs that don’t get the update from Apple can easily be updated with Open Core Legacy Patcher (OCLP):
Thank you for this! I’ve run the pre-2.65 installer and can now see the Roon interface. Interestingly, although I couldn’t open, or seemingly run the new version on my Mac, it was still showing as an endpoint and using my phone I could select music to play through the Mac. Could I suggest making the new installers unable to run on OS versions that don\’t support it? I’m sure I won’t be alone in running the update on a system it actually won’t run on.
I’m just a user. There was a bunch of feedback to the communication about this update, which left a lot to be desired. You can add yours, e.g., here, where Roon Labs will see it:
