How to point Roon ARC to new Roon Core IP address

Hello,
My Roon Arc was working fine up to the point when my Roon Core server aquired a new IP address from my router. The Roon Core is listening on port 55000 and UPnP is enabled on my router. Roon ARC in settings just says Testing and the Roon Core IP address is missing. How do you point Roon ARC to the Roon Core’s new IP address? Grateful for any help.
Thank you!

@Sebastian_Barone, welcome to the Community. Have you tried rebooting your Core and restarting Roon to see if the connection comes back? With your updated IP address on the Core, can you confirm that Roon works normally with your other devices (that is, it is still on the same network as your other devices)?

Hi @Robert_F,
Yes, other than Roon ARC, everything else is working fine.

Have you tried connecting the ARC app to your Core first via WiFi on your home network? How did you have ARC configured previously, using UPnP or with a port forwarding rule? Assuming UPnP but want to confirm.

It (the roon core) was working over my wifi previously (using UPnP), but I shut down, connected it to a LAN port on my router and restarted. I wanted the roon core to be on the same switch as my NAS. I was hoping for better file throughput. Other than being wired instead of wifi, the only change is the new IP address aquired by the roon core.

Hi @Robert_F,
I just put the roon core back on wifi, it re-aquired the original IP address and now ARC works again. Strange or is it?
Thanks,
Sebastian

Good to hear ARC is working for you @Sebastian_Barone. Enjoy the music!

@Robert_F …Thanks Robert, but if possible, do let me know why it works on wifi and not when connected to a LAN port on a wifi router. Best regards!!

@Sebastian_Barone, I am not sure. The LAN port or cable could be faulty, or the router may have configured the LAN ports in a different manner such that they are on a different subnet or have other restrictions on it compared to the WiFi network.

Hi @Robert_F … No worries. I statically assigned the ethernet port the same IP address it had while on wifi and so far Roon ARC works just fine.
