How to search for a track plus artist (Tidal/Qobuz)?

Description of Issue

I frequently want to search for a song title + artist, such as “as time goes by sandoval”. As you can see, it doesn’t appear in the autocomplete-search:

It does appear in position 11 in the full search results (under Tracks). Sometimes the track exists, but doesn’t appear in the results of a such a search - it has to be found via a different route.

Both Tidal and Qobuz present it as the first track in quick-search:

Are there tricks to getting better search results (enclosing the different components in quotes doesn’t work)? Is there a way to have Roon not “help”, as with an old-fashioned keyword search?

Nope search is a law unto itself in what it returns. Combining just artist and title will find what it seems most popular based on your collection and other parameters that again appear to be a mystery. I dont even see one entry from any act called Sandavol when I search but I only have Qobuz. You can’t do contextual searches or Boolean. It’s one of the big issues with Roon is its flawed search.

I found it by using Monty Alexander or using Arturo Sandavols full name so it seems you have to use the first name in the credits for it to return top failing that it’s Bryan Ferry and from my last search not the name in order. If I just use Sandavol I get Bryan Ferry again.

I see it, in the spot indicated by OP; I also only have Qobuz.

You can use Filter to refine the search.

  1. Type “as time goes by” into the search field, and hit enter to get the full search results
  2. Tap on Filter on the right side, and type “sandoval” to list only the album/tracks with sandoval

Thanks.
I think the point is that it isn’t the first result when it ought to be.

It returns it as top item in my example if you use the full name and not abbreviate it. @Zenit this does seem to be some flaw. It works with the 1st artists first name and with the 2nd artists first name but not his last surname where it’s works for either for Monty Alexander likely as he’s primary artist?
