HQ Player Remotely on the network with Holo May KTE

I’m trying to figure out the best way to connect to my May KTE DAC. I have my Roon Nucleus hardwired on the network running Roon Core. I want to install HQPlayer on my M3 Max Macbook Pro (M3 Max, 36GB RAM). Ideally I would want the laptop to sit in another room on the network.

Currently I have my Roon Nucleus connected directly to the DAC via USB. Can I keep it this way and still have the upsampled information sent via USB from the Nucleus using my Macbook on the network or do I need a streamer like the Holo Red in the chain? I just don’t know if HQPlayer can pass the information back to the Nucleus to output to USB, or if I’d even want to do that.

Holo Red would be my suggestion.

@George_Dierna What’d you end up doing?

As suggested, Holo Red is nice. RPi4 or up gateway.

All 3 of these will run Jussi’s NAA.
