You can put this in a .txt file and do same process you already use with headphones?

Make sure you add “preamp gain” to avoid clipping

Oooook!!! Will put a -4.00 to test it!

Use the “plot” function in HQPlayer to check before you press play.

Same like we previously discussed with headphones.

Make sure nothing is above 0dBFS

Looks all good

Well I can see some stuff above 0dB in magnitude plot

Might cause clipping… Maybe -10dB of preamp gain will help ?

You can add to the txt file or to the line discussed the other day, in HQPlayer

Also doesn’t match the EQ plot in your app screenshot.

Good thing to check everything carefully, and then double check, before playing…

Same process as checking oratory EQ plot for your headphones…

This is another curve plot. Will now put Curve B (edit)

The correction is in purple

EQ curve shape looks ok at a quick look. But you still need to add preamp gain - you have boosts above 0d which will/might cause clipping.

And then enough plots - share how it sounds ! ? :grinning:

The sound I noticed is quite “clean”, too “clean” like missing a bit of roughness, don’t know how to explain it. Is interesting, but I need a bit of “noise”. Is quite interesting. I was testing it at DSD256 with ASDMSEC7v2 and poly-sinc-gauss-hires-lp. But is interesting. Will test House Curve C.

The sound is so good already with HQplayer SDM noise/dither shapers :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Here is the highest gain the EQ. Although it is surrounded by lower ones. But just to be safe, without having a specific Preamp-line, use -9.9 dB as gain for those pipelines to compensate for the potential maximum gain. As a result, you will need to turn up your volume, which is normal, because only relatively narrow bands are boosted (rest being much lower).

Many thanks for eye :eye:! @dabassgoesboomboom also mentioned it. Will make the updates. :pray:t2:

Everything was working fine, suddenly sound muted but keeps playing on HQplayer on ifi Neo

Unbuntu HQplayer Desktop for DSD512
Mac Mini Running Roon
NAA
ifi NEO iDSD 512x48

On my DAC-60 DSD256 is ok.

When I switch inputs on DAC from Bluetooth to USB sound comes back

Using latest Roon version.

Any ideas? Thanks :pray:t2:

Edit: seems I’ve found the issue, the NAA ethernet cable was old with something lose that was causing the problem, when I touch it the music came back. Now seems all stable everything is on same switch. I also removed and added back the HQplayer DSD512 zone!

It’s fixed! Party :tada: is back :rofl::rofl:

Hi while updating
sudo dpkg -i /home/hq512/Downloads/hqplayer4desktop_4.20.0-97_amd64.deb

got this:

dpkg: error processing package hqplayer4desktop (–install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Processing triggers for mailcap (3.70+nmu1ubuntu1) …
Processing triggers for gnome-menus (3.36.0-1ubuntu3) …
Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils (0.26-1ubuntu3) …
Errors were encountered while processing:

Edit:
Fixed with sudo apt -f install! All dependencies fixed!!

After update no longer @512x48 ECv2, got drops like before. Other filters are okay

Testing now 7EC 512+fs

:smiling_face_with_tear: can I downgrade?

Can your CPU run the AVX2 build instead?

Can you please explain more details what steps I need to do? Many thanks

Edit: this?

  1. Install libmkl-avx2 deb package:
# sudo apt-get install libmkl-avx2

Why on earth are you doing this!? Don’t do such.

Install hqplayer4desktop_4.20.0-98avx2_amd64.deb instead of the one you installed earlier.

Ups :face_with_hand_over_mouth:! I will do the install later to test. Newbie here

For what I’ve done already is it bad? Do I need to to undo :leftwards_arrow_with_hook:?

So I just download and install like previous version right? It will replace current version of HQplayer?

Just waste of disk space, you can easily undo with “sudo apt remove libmkl-avx2 ; sudo apt autoremove --purge”

Yes, package manager just replaces the previous package with the one you specified. It is pretty straightforward.

Overall, if one’s CPU is AVX2 capable with > 4 cores, very likely the AVX2 build performs best. Maybe I’ll just add more download buttons to the web page.
