Do you have measurements from the analog DAC output with and without PLL?
Looks like around +5dB without PLL.
Is that a large amount?
Noise floor increase and some tens of dB more jitter. And you can also compare to USB input instead:

Can an existing USB key dongle for HQpe 5.x be updated to work with 6.x or do we have to buy another dongle?
These are the instructions I received from Aapo:
You can use the original version 5 license key in the upgrade form (the upgrade form does not recognize any usb dongle key files or updated licenses, only the original ones) and then use the dongle id shown in the hardware fingerprint section when the dongle is plugged in and then use that dongle id as the hardware fingerprint when ordering the version 6 upgrade.
So that’s what I did.

I try not to, so that I don’t run into issues, but the number of available updates scares me a bit these days…
You should keep your system up to date! Otherwise it becomes a security risk.
