I cannot make "ROONALBUMTAG" works

Dear all,

I have read all associated threads, and I created a new tag with Mp3tag (Function “new Column”). I populated this tag with data. In Roon, I have rescanned the corresponding album, but I cannot see the tag in Roon.

I have probably not understood how it works…

  • Should I also create the tag from Roon?
  • Is Mp3tag not the right software?

EDIT: It works now! I have installed another tag editor on my Mac mini, KID3, I applied the same process and it works!

I’ve moved your post into the Metadata Issues category of the forum, because this is the best place to ask your questions.

Others will no doubt reply to your post, but here are my thoughts:

  • Should I also create the tag from Roon? - No, the whole idea of using the ROONALBUMTAG is that Roon will read those metadata fields and create the Tag automatically in Roon.
  • Is Mp3tag not the right software? - I don’t use it, but it should be fine.

Perhaps a Mp3tag user can walk you through the process…

Have you tried rebooting?

Where are your files stored?

Let’s take a look at one specific album. Can you share a screenshot of the album in Roon as well as a screenshot of the album in your tagging tool showing that it’s been tagged?

The problem is solved (I have edited my message). I have installed a new tag editors and the Roonalbumtag is now recognised ’
