I can't install ROCK

hello everyone
my name is Vasilis and iam from Greece.
I bought one ASUS 14 PRO , the model is NUC14RVH, with intel u5-125h , and 32gb/4800 ram + 512gb NVME.
After the bios configuration step , i tried to install rock. I followed all the instructions but i stuck first at “welcome to grab!” , and after many compinations with boot options , now the last phrase is "bootable device is not detected.
please help me

The 14 PRO is not a supported NUC for ROCK, so it may not be possible to install Roon OS on this device. However, “Bootable device is not detected” could mean that you haven’t specified the correct boot order in the BIOS, or no OS is installed on the boot device.

Edit: From this post, it would seem that it is possible to install OCK on a 14 PRO.

Thanks for your fast answer.
Of course I tried this process too, I have read many related answers.
Should I install windows or try from the beggining?

You can easily use another OS and RoonServer. It is pretty much the same since the RoonServer is the same between OS’. I personally prefer other OS’ than the RoonOS that is loaded by ROCK.

You can…

  1. Use DietPi for PC if you want a quick, lean Linux based install. After installation, which is as simple as ROCK, DietPi has a ansi menu which allows you to choose what to install. You would just select RoonServer and off you go. Since, it is a full Linux distro, you also get the ability to monitor system temp, run disk diagnostics, load Roon Extension Manager, and only need 1 big disk for OS, music and backups.

  2. Use Windows. I have for years, works just fine. Secondary benefit is if you are going to use a DAC which requires Windows only ASIO drivers. Also, allows you to monitor system temp, run disk diagnostics, load Roon Extension Manager, and only need 1 big disk for OS, music and backups.

  3. Or load a Linux distro like Ubuntu, but, that requires a bit more configuration that the previous 2.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I will follow your instructions tomorrow.I hope they bring success.

"The Fix:

It turned out to be BIOS settings. Specifically, disabling Intel’s built in security/virtualisation features.

Steps that worked:

Boot to BIOS

Disable:

Intel Virtualization Technology

Intel VT fo Directed I/O (VT-d)

Intel Platform Trust Technology

Save changes & reboot.

Install ROCK via bootable USB installer"
