I’m suddenly unable to create radio stations from a single track. This is an issue across all my devices, the Room server itself, my tablet, my phone, everything. Which leads me to believe maybe something in the setting got flipped, but I’m unable to find what that might be. I am still able to make stations from the album, artist, etc. but the Start Radio station option doesn’t present itself when going through a particular track. Any help?

Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. What @Suedkiez suggested is a good place to start troubleshooting. If play actions aren’t at fault here let us know and we can look into other causes.

Hey! Thanks for the tip, but no dice. All those setting are set to allow Start Radio. I even hit Reset to Default on all of the them in Play Actions and nada.
I didn’t mention that my server is on a Macbook, not that it should make a difference, but…

Are you clicking on the track itself (which is correct) or are you using the 3 dot menu, or are you selecting the track and trying to use the drop-down at the top.
Ok. Figured it out I think. You have to click on the track in the album or playlist view.
Is there really no way to start a radio station from the Now Playing page? Seems a bit counterintuitive to me.
I just re-upped with Roon after a couple years without it. Maybe something changed, but I cannot find the option anywhere.
Right. In your original post you didn’t state you were using a phone and everyone has been responding discussing the desktop. Keep in mind, the phone UI does not contain everything that the Tablet or computer UI does. And, there might be differences between Android and iOS.
That being said my comment ‘selecting the track and trying to use the drop-down at the top’ works for me on Android.
In the pic below, I long press on the song until it turns blue and presents the selection bar at top. (yes in this shot I accidentally selected two).
Then up top there is a down arrow in the blue button. Selecting it will give you a menu the option to “Start Radio”. I’ve circled it in green in the pic below.
The inability to choose a radio station from the Now Playing view is across all platforms I use. Mac, Android tablet, iPad and iPhone. I just happened to post a screenshot from my phone as an example. My mistake was assuming that a radio station could be started from the Now Playing screen, like virtually every other audio app I’ve ever used. I find it odd that you are unable to. It makes for extra fumbling around when it would be more efficient to add it to the drop-down menu.
If you want to make a suggestion for a change then I would suggest posting a Feature Request suggestion in Feature Suggestions. (note the link is click-able and will take you to that forum section.)

Thanks for letting us know and welcome back to Roon. It’s correct that this feature doesn’t currently exist from the Now Playing page. The Product team frequents the Feature Suggestions, which ingests user data about feature suggestions. If you post there other users can vote and you’ll amplify your suggestion.
