Number of Tracks in Library
Description of Issue
Library has 2972 tracks. I can see that some of my meta data is incorrect but most is not. I edit it when I come across problems with no difficulty so far.
I have a constant notification from Roon that the meta data servers are paused. I have been asked to restart my system which I have done, I am running the lastest Roon software.
I have spoken to Zen Internet who are my ISP and asked for a line check. I was told that there have been no breaks in service for a very long time and that the line is perfect. I suspect that there is a fire wall issue but do not know what to do so please will you tell me what to do. You are very welcome to ring any time you fancy using UK working hours.
Hello Henry, Thanks for the rapid reply. My library is stored within the Nucleus+ internal storage. You can see that the size is 924GB of which 93% is available. have just looked and see there are 2972 tracks with nothing stored elsewhere. This quanity will increase but not significantly.
The Nucleus+ has the IP address 192.168.178.52 within my home network. Here is the system status
Ben here with the support team, thanks for taking the time to write in! I’m sorry for the long delay in getting to your thread - I very much appreciate your patience to that regard.
I was able to pull your account up, and it looks like your Nucleus has since recognized your local files, are you still running into issues?
Typically a hard reboot of your core device can solve this. Here is more info:
Thanks for the helpful response. In reply to your query, I encountered a notification over the last couple of days that your servers were having difficulty connecting. This was not the first time. I did what you proposed and switched off the Nucleus Plus for a little over 20 seconds. Looking again this morning I see the notification has gone.
I would not want to repeatedly switch the Nucleus Plus off and on but this solution has for now worked. I did additionally have a notification that Roon had finished updating the meta-data.
Over many years we have had problems with Roon on NAS and the Nucleus Plus has solved everything. The underlying cause of our previous problems was 1 metre thick walls and Wi-Fi. The experience has left me suspicious regarding network problems. Everything here is new and as good as I can afford. We also have 500 Mb/s fibre broad band. If you have any words of wisdom re network analysis or detecting issues from your servers to this location I would be very keen to know.
In the meantime Nucleus Plus is the answer to life and the universe.
