I have this usb dac that only shows 48Khz sample rate in roon arc on my android s20+ running android 13.
In regular roon it shows me it can do upto 384.
Been reading on here about how roon arc doesnt support DAP… with similar issue
Is this dac considered a dap by arc?
The Android sound system supports only 48 kHz. In the ARC settings there is an option to enable a driver that replaces this built-in sound system but it is in perpetual Beta state and may or may not work with your device. You can try. There are existing threads about it, maybe the forum search turns up something about your specific model.
I enabled the USB Driver Beta today. Previously it would cause ARC to keep crashing… It seems to be working now. I tried a couple of other usb dac’s with my phone and arc was reporting all the supported sample rates for those devices… Just didnt work with the ibasso dc-05
Like this one was showing me the 384 option
That’s not quite correct. Android 14 and above support bit-perfect USB audio. But the OP is using Android 13, unfortunately.
Roon or ARC would not recognise that at all though. It’s hard coded to resample regardless and not all software has worked with this change either. It’s not been without its hiccups.
I have 3 apps that work lossless (with an app setting change): ARC, Symfonium, USB Audio Player PRO.
