Identifying albums: non-grouped & Qobuz-versions with no local counterparts

I am slowly but surely getting my collection properly adapted to Roon - gobsmacked, how its database makes me discover all the music I have, anew

There’s two questions, that I still can’t figure out, Qobuz playing a role in this and the fact, that Roon at times will not be able to identify all my albums and fully apply its database-magic (that’s ok - I can do some collections editing manually…)

  1. I want to manually group albums, that Roon was not able to group by itself. There’s two scenarios:
  • please show me albums on my SSD, that are not yet grouped, which I still need to group
  • please show me albums, that I have added from Qobuz AND that also have one or more versions on my SSD
I then would sort the results via album name and then manually group them
  1. I want to identify albums, that I still want to buy from Qobuz. So I need to display albums, that I have added to my collection from Qobuz, that do not have a “local” version on my SSD. Two scenarios as well:
  • please show me albums, that I have added from Qobuz, but do not have any local version on my SSD
  • please show me albums, that I have added from Qobuz, where I might opt to buy a HiRes download version (for example, I have a CD-Rip of that album, but Qobuz offers a HiRes version)

I tried all combinations of focus filters and display settings, but I just can’t figure out these scenarios. If this is not possible, then I’m ok with that, too - but one can always ask

Hi @dvdr,

You can come close enough by taking advantage of the Storage Location, Format, and Hidden fields in Focus.

Alternatively, verify that “Show Hidden Tracks and Albums” is toggled to “Yes.” Navigate to the Album Browser, enter Focus, and select your local drive under Storage Location. Sort by Album Title, select duplicates by right-clicking, and then use the album editor (…) tool to Group Alternatve Versions.

Again verify that “Show Hidden Tracks and Albums” is toggled to “Yes.” Navigate to the Album Browser, enter Focus, and select your local drive under Storage Location. Also select the Qobuz Library location. Look for albums that do not have duplicates. Add these to a new Playlist.

Use the Playlist Improver tool to identify higher-quality versions that streaming services might have available.
