I am looking at my cd “mrr cd 018/8 0585904842” which is findable with google but not in Roon as far as I know. That is strange.
This?
If so, it’s a random German Schlager sampler from 1991. Roon gets its metadata from TiVo and MusicBrainz, and such genres and kinds of releases are not very well represented.
When I add releases to my library, I add the label, version, and Discogs ID to the folder, e.g., …
… and have these Import Settings:
This allows me to search for a release based on version or Discogs ID using my metadata. I can also search by label.
Impressive. Thank you. I was hoping the identity would be part of what I think is called meta data and available in some way. I am having problems separating my Beatles in mono that I ripped from cds from all the others in stereo. Maybe your method will do the trick.
This release is pretty obscure; I couldn’t find it using Google. So, you’ll need to add this release to MusicBrainz if you want Roon to identify the album.
However, Roon doesn’t index catalogue numbers, which is why I add the metadata to the folder name. This can be automated with some tagging software.
