As an immersive music producer and engineer, would be very interesting to see Roon having the capability to play immersive formats, not only via streaming platforms such as Tidal (actually no way of playing immersive content on desktop platforms) and Apple Music, pureaudiostreaming but also MKV and mp4 formats such as the one’s one either buys via sites like https://immersiveaudioalbum.com/, BD rips or the cherry on top, bounces from a DAW (ex. ADM).
Has the Roon team ever considered this?
It’s a bit of a pity that only with players like VLC one can play these. Having full featured metadata and Roon features with immersive content would be a dream for not only audio professionals but the public in general.
