I have an mp3 file of recorded silence. I want to use it to test for sources of noise, changes. It simply plays silence. Roon believes the file is corrupt, but the tags are viewable and editable and plays fine with VLC and iTunes. Please advise.
I found another file that imported without issue. No need to bother with this one.
Sometimes it can be header information. Some players are more picky about such things than others. For the few such tracks, flac for me, I just brought them into a program, dbPoweramp for me, and saved them again as the same file type. This corrected all the issues I’ve found so far with corrupt files which still played in other players. Now files which are actually corrupt and won’t play anywhere may probably need to be re-sourced.
