Import JRiver Media Center

I was using JRiver Media Center for a long time. Is it possible to import the library to Roon.
I would move to Roon if that would be possible!

I’ve moved your post from the Feature Suggestions category of the forum to the Roon Software Discussion category, since it’s more of a “how do I do this” question than a feature suggestion per se.

I expect that Community members who use JRiver as well as Roon will be able to offer advice.

Thank you!!
I hope I get some help there

I use both actively

The simple answer is no, Roon will honour Tags populated in JRMC where it has matching tags , eg Composition is translated as Work, Movement as Part

The 2 library db languages are different, and the structure I would guess is VERY different so a direct import is not possible. Equally I don’t know of ant library systems that allow such interchange

I have used Roon for 8 yrs but still maintain my JRMC system , I edit in JRMC before importing to Roon

It would be great, if you could describe your workflow in detail…

I am not sure how I run JRMC will help

My Roon library is simply what Roon created, Roon and JRMC are completely different, the only way to build a Roon library is to let Roon do it, the good thing about Roon is the automatic metadata lookup

The simplest way is to go Settings > Storage and point Roon at your hard drive and sit back, Roon will do the rest

Any customisation with JRMC is not transferable, with Roon the menus etc are fixed
