Importing a .PLS Playlist with 100+ DI.fm Stations into Roon

Hi everyone,

I have a .pls playlist containing over 100 internet radio stations from DI.fm. I’d like to import it into Roon, but I’m not sure if Roon supports bulk importing of this format or if I’ll need to add each station manually.

Has anyone tried something similar? Is there a workaround, such as converting the playlist into a format that Roon can process?

Thanks for any tips!

Roon supports playlists in PLS format (for tracks). If it does anything (good) for a playlist of radio stations, I don’t know. Maybe no one knows as using playlists for internet radio stations is not an advertised feature of Roon.

I think you just volunteered to test this.

There isn’t a method that I know of.

(DI.FM has a random selection of free channels each day unless you are a premium member, so the curators haven’t been able to add them to the Roon DB. )

I’m a premium member of DI.fm, and for those who subscribe, you also get premium access to RockRadio.com, ClassicalRadio.com, JazzRadio.com, and ZenRadio.com. Each of these services allows you to generate a .pls playlist, and across all of them, there are over 300 stations available.

Since Roon doesn’t support importing playlists for internet radio stations, you have to add each station manually, which is a long and tedious process. It would be great if Roon introduced a way to bulk import radio stations in the future!

That sounds a good idea - consider opening a thread in Feature Suggestions
