In trying to set up new server, strange message that I have 0 authorized devices,

I have a lifetime license, but I get this message. I wish it was easier to clone a server to a new device.

Somehow my SmallGreenComputer works for Roon but I can’t log into it and I am worried that it is failing. So, I am trying to build a new server on my new laptop but I am getting a blank screen or this message:

Hi,

Your Roon license is currently assigned to the SmallGreenComputer, to enable Roon Server to run on another device first the SGC needs to be unauthorised.

To do this just press the unauthorise icon, it’s quite safe, and then login as normal.

Someone else reported a similar issue a couple of months back.

The strange thing is the “you have already authorised 0 devices” which, in the other case, caused the “unauthorize” button to be omitted.

I can’t remember what the resolution was in the other case.

Edit: just found the other thread:

I had the ‘0 authorisations’ thing recently when I was trying to set up a server on my pc as I was planning to strip the NUC down and remove dust buildup and wanted to use the pc as server while I did the work.

I rebooted the pc and then it came back and correctly told me I had 1 authorisation and allowed me to unauthorise the NUC. Very strange though.

And I’ve still not got around to cleaning the NUC…
