Inability to connect Roon ARC due to 'issue with Roon Server' error (ref#40XPV4)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Can’t reach my Server, remotes or ARC

Can’t connect to my Server, remotes or ARC

· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· I have never been able to use Roon ARC. I get "issue with Roon Server," I have enabled UPnP on my home router. One other detail: My Roon Server is hard wired into a TP-Link RE315 wifi extender. Could that be the problem? I'd really like to use ARC but have never been able to connect. Your help appreciated.

Hello @Douglas_Gordon ,

Thanks for reaching out. We’ve activated diagnostics for your account and what this does is upload a log set to our servers for review. Looking over the log file, I see an error with ARC connectivity, but nothing that would trigger an issue with Roon Server, that is typically due to corruption. Can you please share a screenshot of the exact error you are seeing? If you temporarily connect your Roon Server directly to the router, does the error persist?

I am attempting to use ARC with iPhone. My small green computer is my Roon Server; I use a TPLink network switch between the RE315 network extender and the small green computer running Roon. I have no problem with running Roon from my desktop or an iPad.

Hi @Douglas_Gordon,

Thanks for the update!

Can you temporarily simplify your network setup, and get a direct ethernet connection to your server via ethernet?

Then, reboot all your devices and see if you’re able to connect. Thank you! :raising_hands:

Hi @Douglas_Gordon,

What do you see listed in Roon Settings → ARC? Is there a diagnostic message listed alongside a “Not Ready” status?
