Describe the issue
Every. Time my Wi-Fi goes down which sometimes it does. When the power shuts off during a storm, I can't connect to run through my nucleus. I tried unplugging the router. I tried unplugging the power supply and no supply and no cigar. Are you an insult of the remote and that still doesn't work? It's so frustrating to pay this kind of money. And you can't connect for days on end sometimes. But yet it seems like they're more interested in throwing out all these new versions and all these new things. And you can't get the basic connectivity right for your existing customers.I've been a customer for 3 years now.And that's a lot of money every month
Describe your network setup
Arris Surfboard, hi speed internet, Atoll Streamer
I understand your frustrations. I’m a Roon user like you, just trying to help. Consider the following.
You listed the Roon Server OS as Nucleus. Do you have a Roon Nucleus or NUC/Rock server?
You listed the Roon Server is connected by W-Fi. The recommendation is wired for the music server even if remotes and end-points are wi-fi.
What router do you have? Not listed with Arris Surfboard, hi speed internet, Atoll Streamer. Is the Surfboard a modem/router combination?
If you’ve had the issue many times, as it sounds, it would be a good idea to have the music server and your Network components plugged into a UPS battery backup system. Those are especially important if you live in an area prone to power interruptions to protect your equipment, to keep your equipment running during short interruptions or allow time to shutdown the equipment for longer outages.
When you have difficulty getting things working again after these outages what is it that eventually corrects the problems?
If your roon server is not somehow damaged by the power outage then it would seems that the issues are Network related.
If the Surfboard is Modem/Router combined have you considered getting a separate router?
Ok, sorry Mike, for the incomplete picture
I have a modem router,
The nucleus is plugged into the router.
I have a power conditioner that keeps.
spikes and brown outs from damaging my equipment.
What has fixed it in the past? Unplugging the power supply and the router connection.
I would have no way of telling if the nucleus is damaged or not except by not working and then that could be other things.
I appreciate, the other suggestions, but I really don’t want to go those routes.
Everything else with my router seems to be working.Just fine my internet radio, tv, all came back, as this setup usually does.1
Thanks for writing in and sharing your report! It’s good to see you on the community again, although I’m sorry its an issue thats prompted your recent post.
Based on your account info, we see your Nucleus being online and active recently, are you still having issues?
Are you able to review your Nucleus from the devices list found within your router settings? If yes, are you able to allocate additional network bandwidth to the device?
