Inability to connect to Roon 1.8 after relocation (ref#CST1H2)

Is Roon Server running?

· No, Roon Server is not running.

For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.

· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.

Describe the issue

Translation

I haven’t been able to connect to Roon 1.8 since I moved house. My iPad and iPhone don’t want to connect to Roon…! I can’t access Roon Web Admin page!

I opened the Nucleus because the green light was no longer on. Inside, there are two lights.

One when the power is on and the other when I press the ON-OFF button.

Hi @Jacques_Belanger,

This may be down to the change in your home LAN.

Let’s see if this helps …

As a next step, lets reset the network settings on the Nucleus. Steps to follow below:

  1. Connect the Nucleus to a monitor or TV via HDMI.
  2. Connect a USB keyboard to the Nucleus.
  3. Power on the Nucleus and let it boot.
  4. Press ENTER
  5. Type resetnetwork
  6. Press ENTER

Let me know if you’re able to connect afterward.

Is there a specific reason you have not updated Roon 2.0?

I know some people didn’t wish to due to the Roon 2.0 always online requirement but this is no longer the case.

I ask as updating to the latest version of Roon would be my high on my troubleshooting list as it would enable you to use the latest Roon Apps (not legacy) on your devices.

Hi @Jacques_Belanger,

Just for due diligence, are we correct in assuming this was simply an issue with the LED indicator?

@Carl’s point remains relevant, however - Roon 1.8 is no longer supported, meaning this server instance will not receive bug fixes or updates that are potentially necessary for upstream services to function (like metadata enrichment). Is there a particular reason you’re on the legacy build with a RoonOS machine that can support Roon 2.0?
