These issues are ongoing, and now exaccerbated by a larger library (over time) and then further worsened by Android Auto no longer seeming to recognise Roon ARC as a way to play music (so I can’t ask Android Assistant to play music anymore which used to be my workaround since ARC wouldn’t show me music properly).

Hi @James_Fitzell,

Thank you for your post. Are you using Bluetooth or USB to connect to the head unit?
The library volume you currently have should be below most head unit object display limits (500 objects or so), so we’ll need to investigate this particular head unit’s interaction with ARC.

Is the launch failure with ARC something that emerged after the most recent update, just released this week?

Hi Connor,

I’ve currently got 758 albums, although there are some duplicates in there across Tidal/Qobuz libraries. (as an aside, the latest release seems to have broken the Group Alternate Versions feature… as of today I’m seeing all the relevant albums duplicated and re-grouping them does nothing).

I’m using USB. As far as the Android Assistant issue goes it’s hard to say when this started happening, most of my driving is fairly short and I mostly use playlists since I have a smaller number that always show up in the car (it’s the albums/artists that aren’t showing up). My longer drives where I’m choosing album after album aren’t frequent so I can only say the assistant worked 9 months ago when I logged the original case, and it’s not working now.

Hi Connor,

Just an update. I discovered Android Assistant had gone back to saying my default music was youtube (not sure why, I never use it). Since removing this setting I seem to be able to use Android Assistant to request music again as a workaround (although its pretty rubbish at choosing the right albums ).

Hi @James_Fitzell,

We’re glad to hear that particular issue has been resolved. We’ll respond with an update about the display limitations on the number of objects as soon as we have more information. Thanks!
