I am trying to install the Roon trial version on my Synology DS220j with DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5. I have downloaded the spk file DSM7_x86-64-20220216 and when I try to install the file I get the message that it is not taken intoaccount on the platform or is incompatible with the DSM version. Can you help ?

Hi, your NAS has a Realtek CPU which is not Intel compatible. So, you can’t install the x86 platform version for DSM. And you won’t be able to install roon on it either since you’d need a NAS with Intel compatible CPU.
Thanks a bomb maddib for your quick response, although, as you can imagine, the content is not really satisfactory. This is quite stupid since to me the purpose of Roon is to be hosted on a server so it can be shared. My experience with Roon will have lasted less than 2 hours !

Sure, and if you want to use your NAS for your music files anyway. What would be more obvious than running roon server on exactly that machine. But for NASs you should follow the strong recommodations as well, i.e. chosing the CPU wisely and use SSDs for the roon database files.
I do store my music files on the Synology, but I did not know at the time I purchased it that 1) I would be interested in Roon 2) that it would not be appropriate for the job.
