Describe the issue

I am unable to consistently play any tracks (local or via Tidal) from outputs connected to my Mac. With prior updates I could get playback working by restarting the roon client on my mac, but playback would fail after waking from sleep. After this latest (mac os & roon - happened around the same time) update fully quitting and restarting roon (nor toggling local network access) helps.

Network zones continue to work just fine, this only impacts outputs directly connected to my laptop.

Describe your network setup

My macbook is connected via ethernet adapter to an unmanaged switch. My roon core is running in a VM also directly connected to the same unmanaged switch. The switch is a Zyxel XGS1010-12

Hey @Aaron_Gutierrez,

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear about your issue getting your local Mac outputs to appear properly!

As a first step, I’d like to clear the Roon database on your Mac. Steps to follow below:

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder

Let me know if you run into the same issue, thank you! :slightly_smiling_face:

i have the same issue. No playback.
Tried renaming the Roon Folder in Mac Library, installed new Roon.
Roon found the library and settings immediately (probably found Roon server immediately), so obviously no change at all, and still no playback - not on the MacBook Pro itself, which is my Roon server, nor on the Node Icon, which is my streamer via Network.

EDIT: Solved. Restarting the computer made Roon ask, which Roonserver to use, now it works.
