I’ve been having this problem since yesterday, too ![]()
I’ve had the same problem for two weeks now, do you have a solution?
This is a known issue due to a major Qobuz cloud migration. It is being tracked here:
Having this issue too ![]()
Could you please clarify your position?
It sounds as though you might be attributing these issues to the Qobuz, which is a significant claim…
I am not staff. I am a user just like you. I have no opinion. I am referring you to another link with more information with dozens of cases. That’s all. You will see there updates by roon staff in dialogue with Qobuz concerning this matter. This is also widely reported on other Qobuz partner sites and even by Qobuz themselves.
There are ongoing attempts by the mods to consolidate all these similar threads in one place in the thread I referred to. That’s probably what should happen to this one.
This has been going on for quite some time now. Glad to hear they are at least aware of and working to a solution. I do wonder though, if when this is fixed if all the albums added incorrectly will go back to the original added date.![]()
Hey everyone - thanks to all of you who kept reporting examples here, it has been genuinely helpful in narrowing this down.
We now have a clearer picture of what’s happening. For Qobuz content, the “Date Added” shown in Roon comes from the favorite timestamp returned by Qobuz’s API, rather than something Roon maintains separately. What we’ve confirmed is that a number of older Qobuz albums were returned to us with newer favorite timestamps, which is why they suddenly resurfaced at the top of libraries when sorted by Date Added.
From the examples and trace data we reviewed, the pattern points mostly to albums that had previously been marked unavailable and later became streamable again. Qobuz has confirmed there were batch changes in that area, and those changes have now been paused while they continue investigating. If that correlation holds, we would not expect the issue to continue affecting additional albums going forward - though it is reasonable to expect more people to notice existing changes in their libraries as they browse or sort by Date Added.
We’ve been actively working this with Qobuz and have already provided detailed examples, affected IDs, and trace data to help isolate the problem. Based on what we’ve confirmed so far, the issue is coming from the data being returned to Roon, so the underlying correction will need to happen on Qobuz’s side. We’ll keep pushing and will update this thread as soon as we have something meaningful to share.
Thank you for this update. Please keep after Qobuz as it’s frustrating.
If I understand this correctly, once the problem is solved, batches of Qobuz albums that had become unavailable and were later replaced by Qobuz with new versions will no longer be automatically replaced in Roon and given new added dates. But as the user gradually discovers these albums when trying to play them, they will have to manually add the new version to their library, which will result in a new added date and the loss of some metadata such as the number of times each track has been played. So the end result will be the same, but it will happen bit by bit manually instead of all at once automatically. In other words, things will go back to the way they were before this automatic batch replacement problem started happening.

· In the Roon app (v 2.62 (build 1641)) (Album View by Date Added)on my iMac (OS Ventura 13.7.8), I am unable to view (or play) albums added after April 2021, particularly those I added to my library from Qobuz. This was not the case in recent uses of Roon. Can you help? Thanks! ~ Charles

I wonder if this is also related (or a side effect) of their recent cloud migration which has additionally caused problems with albums and tracks being unplayable through Roon and other platforms.
There is still an ongoing problem however and that is why these albums were ‘removed’ from the streaming - especially when they still exist on the service. Quite often I find albums removed, but still on the service, the original album effectively becomes a ‘ghost’ in my list. If I now wish to add them back into my collection I have to accept that the favourite date will be updated and it will appear at the top of my list. I’d really like to see a way of handling this in the future.
That’s what I fear too, going back to the former odd behavior.
As this changes to albums from Qobuz don’t corrupt the library in the Qobuz app it seems, there should be made a solution from Qobuz and Roon, that those changes also don’t corrupt the Roon library.
I have my rips on a ROCK and added albums to my library from Qobuz. All has been working fine for a few years now. Three days ago, about 20 albums appeared at the start of my library when viewed as date added, which are albums added years ago. I restored a backup and ever was back in the correct order of date added. Overnight, the old albums appeared as added that day. Another restore and all fine. Again, overnight, these albums appeared as added today. What is changing their date added and how do I fix it?
Hey @roon13,
Welcome to the forum! Does this sound like the same issue that you’re having? https://community.roonlabs.com/t/incorrect-added-date-for-qobuz-albums-ref-qldxi2-ticket-in-qobuz-is-on-it/313706/277?u=noris.
Though, if you can’t play the item at all it sounds a bit different than that thread, can you please let us know the exact local time + date + track when you next experience the behavior?
I’m affected by the wrong Added dates problem too. Pages and pages of albums I added over the years now show as all were added together 11 days ago. And the ones I actually added few days ago (rips and FLACs files imported in my NUC’s ‘Roon Optimized Core Kit Internal Storage’) don’t show up at all.
Hoping the promised fix comes soon and could restore the way it was (I doubt)
Did you successfully upload one of your backups?
Roon does not create its own date added. Roon simply absorbs the data that the Qobuz/Tidal API sends our way, and we’re currently working directly with Qobuz to solve this issue.
We’ll be posting all updates to the tracking thread shared above, along with our software release notes category on the community.
@Darren_Syzling, please create your own support thread in order for our team to properly address your issues. Thank you!
Back in August there was a thread posted regarding Roon re-adding albums to your library that were already in your library, without user intervention. This is not a problem with individual users, or their systems, it was posted that Roon tech support was able to reproduce this issue. Tech response;
It appears there has been no progress made on this bug, which is pretty frustrating. I normally sort my library with the latest albums added on the top. Now my library when sorted that way has dozens and dozens of albums that were added by me years ago showing up like there were just added yesterday.
I wonder if anyone has heard anything on this, or if there has been any progress on this issue?
Cheers,
Chris Rud

Describe the issue
Qobuz deleted albums returned. About 300 albums came back with no apparent reason, from about 3650 to 3958 albums. A more annoying problem is that the "date added" sort is not working correctly when I sort from newest to oldest. I routinely use this to look at my database to listen to new favorites so I depend on it. When I switch the sort to oldest to newest, it is not the inverse of the newest to oldest search, which is very strange. I see this behavior on all devices so it is not an interface issue. In the past, I've had Qobuz database issues that resolved themselves in a few days, but this has persisted for almost a week. Rebooting the Roon database didn't help, nor did signing out of Qobuz and signing back in.
