I wasn’t able to zip the file and the upload link was invalid.
Hello @Ian_Ramsay,
Thank you for the update. We hope the search in the “cats lair” proves successful!
As a general recommendation, we always suggest maintaining backups in at least two different locations (for example, a USB drive and a network folder or cloud storage). This ensures your library data remains safe even if a physical drive goes missing or fails.
Regarding the investigation: please don’t worry too much if you cannot locate that specific backup. We have requested similar data from other affected users to help our R&D team identify the pattern.
However, if you do find it, we highly recommend saving a copy of that backup from before the dates became incorrect. This will give you the option to restore your library to its proper state once our team identifies a fix or a workaround.
Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

Music won’t play or issues with my library
· Trouble creating or restoring backups
Tell us what's going on
· I had 2351 albums in my collection . One day I suddenly had 2480 albums and the date added a sort had a bunch of old albums listed as being added. But there is no date at all for date added. I restored a backup from Feb 9 and my collection was correct again. The next day all the bogus albums were added again. I restored two more time and the same thing happened

Hey @Keith_Jackson,
Thanks for writing in! To confirm, are all these unwanted albums with incorrect dates from Qobuz?
If so, this is very likely a known issue our team is currently working on. We’ll be on standby for your reply. Thank you! ![]()
Yes, I assume they’re from Qobuz. And they have no dates at all . So it looks like they were added in and defaulted to the most recent dates
If I was a new user and was logging on to Roon-Qobuz for the first time would I encounter this defect?
I did log out of Qobuz and back on but the error still occurred
.
Thank you Vadim, but I seem to be unable to upload anything from Roon backup manager. And on the external backups I cannot see dates…
Hi @Keith_Jackson,
Thanks for confirming! If you could, please create a fresh backup, compress it to a .zip file, and if possible, upload it to Google Drive and or wetransfer, and PM me a private link.
Let me know when you’ve completed the above, thank you!
Hi @Ian_Ramsay,
That is difficult to say, as this issue deals with the metadata and file information being sent to us from Qobuz.
If you are a new Roon user, but have an extensive Qobuz library, there is likely a greater chance of running into this known issue.
Our team is still investigating things, so we definitely appreciate your patience in the meantime! ![]()
Ok, I’ll work on it
I just noticed that in the new library , the funky one, there are no “dates added”on anything, unless I just added it today or yesterday. That explains the weird sorting , but not the extra albums added in
Hi All:
I have posted several times regarding this issue. Good to see Im not the only one experiencing this problem. Basically, my problem is that I have approximately 11,000 albums. 8,000 local files and the balance is Qobuz. I havent added any new local files however, I usually add a few albums per week on Qobuz. Once I created a Raid this Recently added problem reared its ugly head. Most of the 3,000 Qobuz albums were added after the local files. Therefore, when I sort by Recently added, the Qobuz albums are the one’s that I should see first. That is exactly how it was working before I created the Raid and is not the way it is performing now. My Recently added starts about 2 months ago when I created the Raid. Prior to the Raid, my Recently added was all Qobuz which is exactly what I would like it to be but have never gotten an answer from tech support as to why this is happening.
I still am a major supporter of the Roon software but, it is frustrating not being able to figure out the solution to the problem.
Thanks……….
The files on my nucleus hard drive also no longer have a date added stamp
Is this issue related to the trouble I reported here Sorting Issue on Albums Page by Date Added (ref#6R1PEN)
I don’t have a RAID setup, and I’ve been having the problem with some Qobuz albums being assigned new dates for when they were added, so I don’t think there’s a connection. That’s probably just a coincidence.
also a number of albums are now misidentified , wrong cover , wrong info etc
btw I can’t figure out how to isolate todays backup to send from the flash drive
looks like same or similar issue. My date added have all disappeared . In addition , albums are incorrectly identified , 130 albums not in my collection appeared
Also, they can’t be fixed
